Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 11, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), form a tactical column before a patrol while conducting live-fire fire and movement drills during a sustainment training exercise near Camp Beuhring, Kuwait, March 5. Fire and movement is a technique used to advance a unit down a battlefield; one element employs suppressing fires to deter enemies while other Marines advance toward the objective. The MEU is a flexible, sea-based, crisis response force able to resolve conflict, conduct humanitarian assistance, or combat enemies in remote, austere environments otherwise inaccessible.
